PROJECT OVERVIEW

Graduation Assembly is a commemorative 3D animation created to celebrate my graduation from Columbia College Chicago. Following its completion, the piece was submitted and officially selected for screening at the Moonlighters' Annual Screening in Chicago. To expand the project beyond animation, I developed a series of promotional graphics celebrating the selection, including the official poster featured alongside this animation.

PREVIS/ INITIAL BLOCKING

Graduation Assembly was created as a short animated piece built around bouncing, colliding, and assembling elements, with the goal of making something playful, celebratory, and nostalgic. The background was inspired by my own workspace, with papers on the wall referencing personal accomplishments such as artist statements and Dean’s List letters. The flowers on the graduation cap reflect how I decorated my own cap for the Commencement Ceremony, while the small animal statuettes reference nicknames given to me by loved ones growing up. Overall, the piece serves as a love letter to everything I accomplished during college, as well as the people, memories, and milestones that shaped me before it.
